SCULPTURE: "Lava Lizard" Monster Head

It's been a while since I've sculpted something for a continuing series I've been working on since 2013..."KAIJU Monster Heads". As an avid fan of Godzilla (huge understatement!!!), I've been making up my own bizarre creatures just for fun.

Chalk Postcard: #84

Thought I'd post a new Summer-Time chalk drawing.

Chalk Art "Postcard 83"

Time for another postcard in my ongoing series..."Wacky Facts". I learn something every time I do one of these!

Chalk Art: "Postcard #82"

It's been nice to be a bit more creative with various art projects lately. Here's a new Postcard to the Neighborhood. I am re-visiting a format from the past. As the saying goes..."Truth is Stranger Than Fiction".

SCULPTURE: "Bamboo Gorilla"

It's been a while since I've sculpted something for fun. Sometimes, I wonder where my ideas come from. This would be one of those times.

Chalk Art: "Postcard 81"

I forgot to post this a few weeks ago. Better late than never!

SCULPTURE- "Astro-Mech Droid"

About a week ago, I noticed that my one of my neighbors had something in his driveway that had not been picked up on trash day. I decided to ask the neighbor if he meant to throw the object away, and if so, if I might be able to take it off his hands. He was happy to let me.

What started as a used "SHARK" brand air purifier, soon became the main part of a STAR WARS inspired "Astro-Mech Droid" that I made for my front yard flower bed. I might fill the top with bird seed...but then the squirrels go and mess it up.

Chalk Art - "Postcard #78"

I've got a new Winter Postcard for you!

CHALK ART: "Postcard 77"

Things got busy during the holidays, and I forgot to post this. Better late than never!

CHALK ART: "Postcard #76"

The world could use a lot of this right now.

CHALK ART: "POSTCARD #75"

Time for a new POSTCARD!

SCULPTURE: "Family Crests"

Here are some photos of a project I worked on in October as a gift for my buddies, Alan and Dave. I asked them if they had a "Family Crest". They did not...so I asked them to pick an animal that matches the first letter of their last name. Then I went all "Steam Punk/Clockwork" on 'em.

Chalk Art: "Postcard #74"

There are only a few days left of October. Time to squeeze in one more postcard.

Chalk Art: "Postcard #73"

Fall is officially here! Get those rakes ready!

UPDATE...modified my postcard to finish out the month of October.

CHALK ART: "Postcard #72"

Here's one more postcard before the leaves start falling.

CHALK ART: "Postcard 71"

Here's my latest Postcard done for Labor Day Weekend.

Modifications:

The other day I was so happy to discover that one of my sunflowers had grown to the size of my face. I staked it up so it wouldn't fall over. The very next day, some "Super Squirrel" had chewed the head off and hauled it to the feeding grounds. I was disappointed, but also very impressed. So today I added to my most recent chalk postcard in tribute.

SCULPTURE : "Space Croc"

Way back in 2010, I made a sculpture called "Space Gator" (painted with blues and aquas). I decided it way past time to do a companion piece..."Space Croc" (colored red, like Mars). This is made with Sculpy Medium, with a few components made from bits of plastic junk.

CHALK ART: "Postcard 70"

Here is my latest postcard...a "Back to School" theme!

CHALK ART : "Postcard #69"

I've got a new postcard to share...something to go with the summer heat. This one is based on actual events. When I was first dating my wife, Cathy, she put me to the test to see if I had a sense of humor. Fortunately, I laughed my head off...after the initial shock.

SCULPTURE: "Kaiju Crab-Shark"

In 2013, I started sculpting a little series of "Kaiju Monster Heads". It's been a year since I've made one. This guy is a mutated "Crab-Shark". The little boat is a snack.
