Here are my little Apple Folks on DAY 12...getting pretty close to the finished stage of dehydration.

I cut a few more slits in the center apple skin...just isn't drying out very fast. My original thoughts were that the apple skin might dry to look like fabric...like a hood around the old lady face. The wrinkles look kind of cool, but the dry-time is lots longer with the peel on.

The quarter in the shot will give you a sense of scale...the apples have shrunk quite a lot over the last dozen days. I'll give them a little more drying time, then I'll paint 'em and add some hair or something interesting for the finishing touches.
